Classic Madame Alexander Dolls are what make up the core of Collectible Madame Alexander Dolls. Here you will find both the true Vintage Dolls that Madame Alexander created herself or Dolls that are made of the traditional sizes, molds, and fashions.
The #1 doll in the Madame Alexander Doll line was created in 1953 "Wendy". This adorable chubby cheeked little girl doll mold still remains in the line today and is what most 8" dolls are made from. Added to the Madame Alexander Doll line in 1960 was her 8" smiley faced mold called "Maggie". This mold is also seen in many styles today. Both dolls were created by Madame Alexander with a wardrobe to dress and play with, and made of hard plastic which offers durability. "Wendy" has endured!
The 10" "Cissette" Madame Alexander Doll created in 1957 was Madame's more Fashionable Doll. This mold was also used on her Portrette series where you will see many dolls with eyeshadow and fancy gowns.
Madame's 12" "Lissy Doll" was introduced in 1956 as a innocent pre-teen face. She is harder to find, and the Madame Alexander Doll Line still carries less styles of her today. but, if you are lucky enough to get one of her you will see why she still remains today.
One of Madame Alexander's first dolls was her composition 7" "Tiny Betty Doll" from 1935-1943. She has a wistful painted face with her eyes off to the side. Tiny Betty has just made a come back and versions of her can be found in the new 2008 Madame Doll Line.
